There is an increasing caution in dealing with public lighting. As a result, light pollution decreases, and savings are made on CO2 emissions, electricity, and management costs. In various traffic situations, an orientation lighting line is desired.

In fog and rain, the markings are often not clearly visible, which is why road surface lighting provides the desired clarity. The advantage is that, independent of the lighting of one’s own vehicle, a traffic situation can be fully ‘read’ much earlier. The lighting is visible from approximately 500 meters. This results in consistent driving behavior (less braking for curves) and recovery from glare caused by oncoming traffic is much faster. This creates a much calmer and safer traffic image, reducing the number of one-sided accidents. In addition, flashing lighting increases alertness and warns road users of dangerous situations.

The lighting works with LEDs on solar energy. The units can be glued/drilled both on and in the road. The development of road surface lighting is progressing rapidly. Roadstuds International continuously works on the development of new types of road surface lighting, with performances improving each time. In dark times, most products burn almost all night. Moreover, most products comply with the guidelines of the NSVV and/or Natura 2000. Our products are also being prepared for the NEN 1463-3. The lifespan of various products is now approaching 7 to 10 years. Thanks to the absence of cables and fixed power supplies, a traffic situation can be made visible relatively quickly and inexpensively.
